Cheapest Airlines to conquer the world (or not cause flying contributes to global warming)
Do you wish to see the world from the perspective of a bird? Get on a plane and let your inner pigeon out. Here are the cheapest airlines for you to conquer the world:
5. IndiGo
4. Southwest Airlines
3. Norwegian Air
2. easyJet
1. Air Asia
But why is it so cheap with those low budget airlines? How come we only have to pay less than 20 bucks to get from Vilnius to Oslo? Of course, for poor and broken students this is the only glimmer of joy in our exams and lectures filled life. Nonetheless, do employees at cheap airlines face the same stress and work conditions as overpriced airlines? It is a known fact that cheap services and good working conditions don’t go hand in hand. Unfortunately, employees at low budget airlines like Ryanair faces unfair treatments such as being underpaid with few rights. Furthermore, it is expected for employees to execute multiple tasks like cleaning up after a flight and being a stewardess on top of their irregular work hours. Young pilots who hope to become like Leonardo DiCaprio in “Catch me if you can” are entangled in debt as they are not salaried employees but rather work as independent contractors. Also, they are only paid for actual flight hours and not hours on the ground or hours due to delays where expenses like overnight stays are not covered. In the end, those pilots have to pay to fly, which is a common principle for many cheap airlines to exploit their employees. So next time when you get overwhelmed with Wanderlust, maybe take the train or share a car with your friends to travel around. It is also better for Mother Nature.
